Sharon is a trusted and experienced contracting and procurement lawyer, with a focus on intellectual property.
Sharon advises clients on contracting and procurement projects, including drafting and negotiating contracts, and advising on contract breaches and disputes. She also advises on intellectual property matters, including commercialisation and licensing.
Sharon regularly provides tailored legal training to clients, usually on contracting and intellectual property. She is a leading provider of legal services to the Commonwealth government.
Sharon works mainly for government sector clients as well as for clients engaged in research and development, commercialisation, and intellectual property licensing.
Sharon has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Tasmania as well as a Bachelor of Laws and Master of Laws from the Australian National University.
Before joining Sparke Helmore, Sharon ran her own boutique law firm. Previous to that, she worked at a number of national law firms and was a partner at a global law firm.
She has also taught at the Australian National University and was previously a member of the ACT Guardianship and Management of Property Tribunal.
Sharon is an animal-lover with two Persian cats. She is a keen amateur writer, artist and interior decorator, whose decorating philosophy is “‘more is more”.
