She advises clients on indemnity as well as the assessment of liability, quantum, contribution and recovery on individual matters. Rachel also develops claim management strategies for both litigated and non-litigated matters and provides counsel on policy issues, frequently associated with complex and high-profile litigation.
Rachel advises commercial and government insurers as well as self-insured organisations.
Rachel holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours), a Bachelor of Science and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the University of Wollongong.
While completing her tertiary studies, Rachel worked as an intern in the in-house legal team at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation in Sydney before starting her career as a lawyer with a general law practice in Melbourne. Prior to joining Sparke Helmore, Rachel worked in an in-house litigation role within a Commonwealth agency.
Rachel is a keen sports fan whose first love is the Collingwood Football Club. On weekends she can be found at the gym, watching live sport around Canberra (particularly the Canberra Capitals in the WNBL) and cooking up a storm while enjoying a glass of local wine.
