About Lucille

Lucille is involved in a wide range of insurance and risk-related matters. She is a strong litigator and natural negotiator, representing clients in multiple jurisdictions including the Supreme and District Courts of South Australia. Lucille is a member of the Law Society of South Australia and was previously a committee member of the South Australian chapter of the Australian Insurance Law Association.

What she does

Lucille regularly provides detailed and complex advice to insurers on indemnity (including policy construction), reserves, liability and quantum. She works effectively across tight deadlines in managing and defending contentious claims from start to finish. She has worked closely with some of South Australia's leading counsel.

Who she works with

Lucille acts for Australian and overseas insurers and claims management agencies. She also assists insured businesses to manage their own claims within deductible levels and works with brokers in assisting their clients.

Lucille has a Bachelor of Laws (with Honours) degree and a Commerce degree majoring in Management from the University of Adelaide. She also has a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice and is admitted to the South Australian Supreme Court and the High Court of Australia.

Life before Sparkes

Before joining the firm in 2015, Lucille was a Senior Associate in the insurance and risk management practice of a commercial law firm in Adelaide.

Life outside of Sparkes

In the summer, you'll usually find Lucille in a pool or the beach, or practising her tennis serve (socially with friends or more competitively at her local club). In the winter, she enjoys relaxing with a good book and a glass of South Australian red wine.
