Lachlan is an insurance lawyer specialising in liability litigation. His experience extends to public and product liability, property and construction third party claims, intentional torts and recoveries.
Lachlan acts in a variety of public and product liability matters. He acts in multi-party personal injury and property damage third party claims in the retail, hospitality, construction, government and infrastructure sectors. He has also acted in intentional tort claims for several state government agencies.
Lachlan provides advice on policy coverage, contribution and recovery opportunities for insurers and government agencies and has successfully conducted litigated and non-litigated matters across jurisdictions in NSW, Queensland, Victoria and South Australia.
Lachlan is regarded for his practical approach and ability to provide straight forward and strategic advice to complex legal issues.
Lachlan advises insurers, underwriters, government agencies and self-insured corporations.
Lachlan has a Bachelor of Arts (Germanic Studies) and a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the University of Sydney, and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the College of Law.
Prior to joining Sparke Helmore Lachlan spent two years as a Tipstaff in the Supreme Court of New South Wales, working for two judges across all jurisdictions of the Common Law and Court of Appeal divisions.
Lachlan enjoys cooking, fishing and golf and spends much of his down time trying to match his skill to his enthusiasm, with mixed results. He is a keen sports fan and can be found on the sidelines anywhere from his nephew’s U5’s soccer to the AFL and NRL.
