Gabriella is a strategic corporate lawyer who acts in a wide range of corporate and commercial matters, including acquisition and disposal of assets, mergers and acquisitions, supply, service and licencing arrangements, as well as general commercial contracts. She has strong corporate governance acumen, having undertaken in-house roles as General Counsel and Company Secretary. Gabriella also has broad experience in commercial litigation and property law.
Gabriella works closely with clients to understand their business, provide practical advice on their commercial and legal matters, and assist them to achieve their commercial objectives.
Gabriella works with a broad range of organisations and corporate structures—from not-for profits and privately held corporations to large publicly listed companies.
In addition to completing a Bachelor of Laws and Diploma of Legal Practice, Gabriella has completed a Bachelor of Commerce (majoring in Finance), is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has completed a Masters of Applied Law (majoring in Commercial Transactions).
Before joining Sparke Helmore, Gabriella gained broad commercial experience as a director of a large not-for-profit organisation and has previously held non-legal strategic governance roles. She also worked for a boutique commercial law firm earlier in her career.
Gabriella is passionate about health and fitness, and has previously competed at a national level in two sports. She can still be found competing in the Australian National League Water Polo competition, completing ocean swims, playing touch football and competing in the annual Sparke Helmore Newcastle City Triathlon. She also enjoys contributing to her community through voluntary positions and was the recipient of a leadership scholarship from the Australian Sports Commission.
