Emma specialises in defendant workers’ compensation in the Northern Territory. Throughout her career, she has acted on behalf of many of Australia’s largest insurers as well as the government.
Emma has specialised in workers’ compensation since moving to Darwin in 2010—she has defended clients since 2012, after initially acting on behalf of the injured party. Having acted on both sides, Emma has a well-rounded knowledge of the relevant legislation and how best to represent her clients. She has strong working relationships with her clients, which she believes is critical to achieving the best possible outcome in a timely manner.
Emma also acts on behalf of insurers and their insureds in professional indemnity matters.
Emma works with insurers and their insureds, as well as government departments.
Bachelor of Law (Honours) and Bachelor of Business (Management) from Victoria University.
Emma has worked in Melbourne and Darwin and, before re-joining Sparke Helmore in 2019, worked at Hunt & Hunt defending workers’ compensation matters for insurers, self-insurers and government departments.
Emma enjoys spending time with her family, which includes her two small (and energetic!) children. She also enjoys watching AFL and cricket, but will steal any rare moment she can to sit down and indulge in a good book.
