Emma is an experienced insurance litigator. Primarily, she assists insurers to resolve personal injury, public liability and professional indemnity claims. Her experience extends to multi-party and contribution claims, as well as recovery. Emma also conducts investigations and advises Commonwealth Government Departments on disclosures made under the Public Interest Disclosures Act 2013.
Emma provides advice to private and public sector clients with respect to a broad range of insurance matters. She focuses on thorough investigation, strategic management and alternative dispute resolution of claims. Emma regularly appears in various ACT courts, mediations, conciliations, arbitration and settlement conferences.
Emma advises private insurers, Government departments and agencies.
Emma has a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice, Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts from the Australian National University.
Emma has recently joined Sparke Helmore from Minter Ellison, where she developed her dispute resolution and litigation skills. Before that, she was fortunate to work as an Associate to Justice Ken Crispin of the ACT Supreme Court and ACT Court of Appeal.
Emma can be spotted (or heard) cheering on her children at various courts, pitches, gymnasiums and pools around Canberra. She is a frequent volunteer at their primary school and sits on the committee for ‘Growing enrolments’. Emma loves entertaining, architecture and interior design. She also really enjoys a good laugh.
