Deirdre is an insurance law specialist who advises and represents insurers and their clients in a range of commercial insurance matters, predominantly motor vehicle injury, public liability, and property claims and recoveries.
Deirdre provides timely, commercial advice to clients on the assessment of liability, contribution, quantum and recovery. She advises on the management of litigated and unlitigated claims with a focus on strategies for resolution. She also regularly manages catastrophic injury claims, including acquired brain and spinal injuries as well as infant claims.
Deirdre works with the Insurance Commission of Western Australia as well as national insurance firms and self-insured clients.
Deirdre holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Western Australia and a Bachelor of Social Science (Politics and History) from Curtin University. She is a member of the Australian Insurance Law Association, Women Lawyers of Western Australia, Young Insurance Professionals and the Law Society of Western Australia.
Deirdre worked as a law clerk at MDS Legal on medical negligence matters and commercial litigation, and later as a law clerk in the State Agreements team at Rio Tinto.
Before she started her legal career, Deirdre worked as a writer and researcher for a mining, oil and gas publisher in Western Australia.
Deirdre loves going to AFL games and concerts, however, most of her time is spent wrangling her two-year-old daughter and two naughty pugs. Her favourite way to enjoy the weekend is at the beach.
