Cindy Lim
Senior AssociateAbout Cindy
Cindy is an experienced insurance lawyer who has practised almost exclusively in common law litigation since her admission in 2010. She works effectively with her clients to problem solve complex liability and indemnity issues and to find commercial solutions to legal problems.
Cindy advises on public liability, professional indemnity and medical negligence in litigated and non-litigated matters. She also has significant experience advising on CTP and workplace injury claims. She is a skilled advocate who regularly appears in the ACT Supreme Court, Court of Appeal and Magistrates Court.
Cindy advises commercial insurers as well as government insurers and agencies, and self-insured organisations.
Cindy has a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Canberra, and a Masters of Laws and Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Australian National University.
Before joining Sparke Helmore, Cindy spent time living abroad and working at a Toronto-based law firm on complex medical malpractice suits. She was admitted to practice as a barrister and solicitor of the ACT Supreme Court in 2010 and earned her stripes at a boutique personal injury practice. She moved to DLA Piper Australia where she was a senior associate within the Litigation & Regulatory team for a number of years before heading overseas.
Outside of work, Cindy is probably best known for her love of travel and that time she took her six-week-old daughter to visit all 50 states of the USA (incidentally making her the youngest person to ever achieve the feat).
