About Bruce

Bruce leads the Business Consulting practice within Sparke Helmore Consulting and brings more than 25 years’ experience, which he has gained working with public and private organisations in the UK, Asia, Australia and New Zealand. Having spent many years as a Partner at PwC as well as Cognizant Technology Services and PPB Advisory, Bruce has a deep understanding of all aspects of business operations.

What he does

A highly experienced Management Consultant, Bruce’s expertise in performance improvement and transformation across functional, divisional and whole-of-business levels is extensive. He works closely with Sparke Helmore Lawyers’ M&A practice, supporting clients to create and/or protect value across buy and sell side transactions.

From a capability perspective, Bruce has deep knowledge on all aspects of operating model design, redesign and review, as well as function effectiveness and its successful transformation, if required. He understands the importance of effective process management in today’s business environment and the impact of culture and change attitudes.

Who he works with

Bruce works with c-suite executives as well as divisional and functional heads. As noted, Bruce also has strong ties with Sparke Helmore Lawyers’ M&A and Government practices.

Work done recently

Bruce is a member of the Chartered Accountants of Australia and New Zealand, and holds an Accounting degree from Abertay University, Dundee.

Life before Sparkes

Bruce spent 22 years as a Partner at PwC, eight of which were in leadership positions within the Consulting Practice. He also helped build consulting practices at Cognizant Technology Services—where he was Vice President Consulting for Australia and New Zealand—and PPB Advisory—where he led the Sydney consulting business.

Life outside of Sparkes

A father to three daughters and husband to his lifelong partner and wife, Glenys, Bruce enjoys watching sport (rather than playing it these days) save for the occasional game of golf. He has a passion for wine, which he exercises as an avid collector and consumer! And when he’s not consuming wine, he enjoys his other passion; Italian motor vehicles.
