Alex is a commercial litigation lawyer specialising in three key practice areas: commercial disputes, regulatory and investigations, and insolvency and restructuring.
Alex advises a diverse range of clients across New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland and Western Australia. He works closely with clients to achieve pragmatic, cost-effective resolution to disputes. Alex has a particular interest in regulatory and quasi-criminal prosecutions, having acted for clients involving regulatory investigations and applications for contempt of court.
Alex regularly appears in courts and tribunals of all levels, both instructing counsel and as a solicitor advocate. He has a keen interest in giving back to the community through Sparke Helmore Lawyers’ pro bono program.
Alex’s clients include large corporations, government departments, SMEs as well as insolvency practitioners, company directors, and a number of high-profile and high net worth individuals.
Alex has a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from The University of Queensland. He is currently studying a Master of Laws at The University of Sydney.
Alex joined Sparke Helmore Lawyers shortly after completing his university studies. While at university, Alex worked for a number of barristers who practiced in the courts of Queensland and Papua New Guinea.
Alex enjoys a good book (his most recent favourite being Clive James’ Unreliable Memoirs), playing drums and getting out on the basketball court.
