Quality and consistency through collaboration

Sparke Helmore Lawyers congratulates Insurance Partner Belinda Michalk on being named a finalist for Partner of the Year in the 2017 Lawyers Weekly Women in Law Awards.

Belinda advises and acts for domestic and international insurers in general liability claims, and is also one of the firm's Local Managing Partners in Perth. She also sits on Sparke Helmore's Diversity Committee.

"This is a wonderful honour to be named alongside such outstanding lawyers from across Australia," said Belinda. "Raising awareness around the value of gender equality is important to me and it really means a lot to be included in Lawyers Weekly's recognition and celebration of the achievements and contributions of women throughout the legal profession."

Belinda joined Sparke Helmore as a junior lawyer in 2002. "Over her 15 years with the firm, Belinda has worked tirelessly to become a highly regarded senior practitioner whose knowledge, advice and experience is valued by her clients, our Insurance Group and the partners who work beside her. I'm delighted to see her outstanding work and expertise recognised with this nomination," said Chris Wood, National Commercial Insurance Group Leader.

The Women in Law Awards are a celebration of female talent, recognising the up-and-comers, the dealmakers, the innovators and experts in the legal field. The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony to be held at the Sofitel Melbourne on Collins on Friday 20 October.
