Sparke Helmore Consulting Pty Ltd (SHC) is delighted to announce that Bruce McDonald has joined the business as a Principal Adviser to lead the Business Consulting practice within SHC.
Bruce’s focus will be on ensuring businesses are “match fit” from a performance perspective—whether improvements to operating models, operational process, costs or function effectiveness. He also has expertise in deal support including pre- and post- deal assistance as well as operational due diligence and project management.
Before joining Sparke Helmore late last month, Bruce was a member of the PwC Consulting leadership team for eight years. During this time he developed a number of businesses including PwC’s Cost Reduction, Transformation and Finance Function Effectiveness practices. Bruce was behind the development of the Operational Due Diligence services at PwC—including working with Private Equity on targets, acquisitions and divestments—and SHC is excited to be in a position to offer similar services to its M&A clients.
Bruce also spent time as Vice President Consulting at Cognizant and was at PPB Advisory when it merged with PwC and has also worked with a number of organisations as an independent consultant.
Jonathan Doy, CEO of Sparke Helmore Consulting, said “Bruce is an exceptional operator with unparalleled consulting experience gained over many years across a number of sectors including Health, Government, Telco, Technology and Banking. I’m excited to have him join the team and take the lead on SHC’s business consulting practice. Having Bruce on board also supports a deliberate growth plan to amplify the business in the next year.”
Phillip Salem, National Managing Partner, Sparke Helmore Lawyers, said “SHC has been a great addition to our business and has opened up many opportunities for our clients to work with us on comprehensive business solutions. Having Bruce join us ramps up our ambitious expansion plans and cements our commitment to being a unique market-leading professional services business.”
Sparke Helmore Consulting was established to spearhead Sparke Helmore Lawyers’ growing move into allied services and provides Tax Advisory and Business Consulting to complement the core legal services currently provided to clients.
