Quality and consistency through collaboration

Sparke Helmore Lawyers is proud to congratulate former Partner and now Consultant, Richard Anicich, who was made a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in the Australia Day 2018 Honours for "significant service to the community of the Hunter, to business development and medical research, and to the law".

In addition to his role at the firm, Richard dedicates much of his time to the advancement of the Hunter Region in his capacity as Director and former President of Hunter Business Chamber, Chair of the Australian Institute of Company Directors Hunter committee, a member of the Advisory Boards for the School of Law and the Faculty of Business and Law at Newcastle University, together with various non-executive director roles. He has also been a long-term supporter of the Hunter Medical Research Institute.

"Like anyone, you don't do what you do for your community just to receive accolades, but it is nice and very humbling to be recognised," Richard said. "Communities don't survive, let alone thrive, without contributions from members—there are so many others who do so much and also deserve recognition."
