Sparke Helmore Lawyers is thrilled that four partners have been shortlisted in the 2018 Lawyers Weekly Partner of the Year Awards. Gillian Davidson—Insurance, Holly McAdam—Government, Shannon Platt—IP and Penny Stevens—Workplace have been selected as finalists by the judging panel comprising general counsel, barristers, academics and a judge.
Sparke Helmore National Managing Partner, Phillip Salem, congratulated the partners on taking their place among the finalists at the Awards. "We are very pleased that our firm has such strong representation at the Awards across these four categories and are especially delighted that four women will represent the firm. This is a testament to their personal achievements in driving excellence and innovation for our clients, building a values-driven culture within their teams and contributing to the financial success and reputation of our firm. We are proud that our firm provides an environment for everyone here to succeed and we wish them all the best."
The four finalist positions reinforce legal market recognition for Sparke Helmore's lawyers. Fifty partners and lawyers were named in the 2019 Best Lawyers in Australia list, published earlier this month. Last year, Carlie Holt was named Workplace Partner of the Year at these Awards, Shannon Platt was named Partner of the Year at the 2016 Lawyers Weekly Women in Law Awards, and Belinda Michalk was a finalist for Partner of the Year in the 2017 Lawyers Weekly Women in Law Awards.
Finalists are judged on four criteria, including their outstanding legal work in 2017, their ability to overcome challenges in executing that work, their contribution to the growth and financial performance of the firm and their practice area, and how their leadership shaped the culture of the firm and the practice area. The winners will be announced at the Lawyers Weekly Partner of the Year Awards in Sydney on 15 June 2018.
