Sparke Helmore Lawyers is delighted to announce Dalvin Chien has joined the firm to lead our technology law team within the Corporate & Commercial Practice.
An accomplished senior lawyer with more than 17 years’ experience, Dalvin specialises in technology sourcing, privacy, and government contracting.
Dalvin has an extensive depth of knowledge in relation to data security and the commercial and risk drivers on both sides of technology transactions, having acted on a number of large cyber security incidents and worked as a senior in-house lawyer in the private and public sector.
He assists organisations in a diverse range of industries including information technology, community and aged care, banking and financial services, healthcare, and government. He helps clients come up with solutions to address commercial and legal risks, especially with the use of technology and data.
National Managing Partner Phillip Salem said, “We are thrilled that Dalvin has joined the partnership. He is a strong leader and an exceptional lawyer who adopts a pragmatic and principles-based approach, which is highly valued by our clients and team. Having someone with Dalvin’s expertise lead our technology team is another significant step in enhancing the solutions and services we offer our clients.”
Dalvin has been recognised for his work in the Legal 500 Asia Pacific directory.
Dalvin said, “I saw remarkable synergies between my practice and the way in which Sparke Helmore operates; the culture, values and the nimbleness as well as the shared commitment to exceptional client service and the wellbeing of its staff. This move will provide me the platform to add tremendous value to clients, especially in such a crucial time of reform and adjustment to a new normal where every organisation will be challenged to get the right balance between the adoption of new technology and the need for operational and cyber resilience.”
Dalvin joins us from Norton Rose Fulbright and will be based in Sydney.
