Sparke Helmore Lawyers is delighted to announce that Maxine Feletti has joined the firm to lead our State Compensation team in Canberra. She will focus on common law and statutory claims arising from workplace accidents, and add Canberra-based expertise in dealing with work health and safety (WHS) matters for our national Safety team.

Maxine's wide experience gained while working for government and private sector clients and strong advocacy and dispute resolution skills will further expand our Insurance Group's offerings in Canberra and enhance the team's already strong local presence, which has been recently bolstered by new additions: Partner Catherine Power, Special Counsel Jessica Bristol and Consultant Colin Blain.

"I'm excited about returning to Sparke Helmore and look forward to enhancing the State Compensation team's presence in the Canberra market and adding a local WHS legal and advisory capability to Sparke Helmore's national Safety team," says Maxine.

Maxine acts for and advises insurers, corporate employers and government agencies on statutory and common law claims, recoveries, regulatory compliance and risk management, coronial inquests, workplace behaviour matters and merits reviews.

She also has extensive advisory and legal compliance audit experience, especially in the context of WHS, and holds a qualification as a lead auditor in WHS management systems.

State and Commonwealth Compensation Lead Canberra Partner, Stuart Marris, says "We are delighted that Maxine is re-joining the firm from Proximity Legal where she was a Principal Advisor".
