Sparke Helmore Lawyers’ Insurance practice group was named Insurance Team of the Year last Friday night at the 18th Lawyers Weekly Australian Law Awards held at The Star in Sydney.

More than 800 industry members attended the Awards—this year celebrating excellence across more than 30 categories. National Commercial Insurance Practice Group Leader Chris Wood collected the award with Partner Larissa Mepstead. Chris said: “It’s always a great honour to win an award and be named a Team of the Year, but these triumphs are only made possible through the dedicated work of our people and the invaluable support from our clients, day in and day out. So this is a huge thanks and congratulations to everyone who plays a part in making us the Insurance Team of the Year—we couldn’t have done it without you”.

Earlier in the year, the Group was named Insurance Specialist Firm of the Year at the Australasian Law Awards for the third year in a row and more recently, the firm opened its first office in Darwin in response to the growing needs of local Commercial Insurance clients.

Sparke Helmore was a finalist across four categories on the night, including Law Firm of the Year, Intellectual Property Team of the Year and Government Team of the Year.
