Newcastle's first five star hotel to open in 2020 following Crystalbrook Collection Hotels & Resorts acquisition17 December 2018
The redevelopment of Newcastle continues apace with the Crystalbrook Collection Hotels & Resorts acquiring the "Roundhouse" Council Administrative Centre with plan to develop this iconic site into Newcastle’s first five star hotel. Located in the heart of Newcastle and surrounded by other landmark buildings, this investment opportunity will be a great addition to the Crystalbrook Collection’s growing portfolio.
With more than 17,000 people working in the tourism sector (according to REMPLAN tourism estimation based on 2016-17, Australian Bureau of Statistics) and international tourism showing growth in the Hunter Region (according to Tourism Research Australia’s International Visitor Survey) the hotel, which is due to open in late-2020, will be a welcome addition to the Newcastle cityscape. The planned development is still in draft stage, but initial studies suggest that the hotel will provide at least 100 guest rooms, a rooftop restaurant, a recreational area and swimming pool.
