Sue Burns

Special Counsel

Sue is a Special Counsel in our major claims team practicing almost exclusively in the area of insurance and catastrophic injury claims since 1995.

With over 25 years of experience, Sue has managed a number of high profile claims for major insurance clients including claims arising out of the Fairlight Day Care Centre accident. Her experience enables early identification and assessment of medical and legal issues in complex claims with a view to resolving claims at the earliest possible stage.

Sue team’s emphasis is on early rehabilitation of injured plaintiffs and negotiation to achieve a cost effective resolution for parties to catastrophic injury claims without resort to final litigation where possible.

Formerly a Partner at Abbot Tout, Sue relocated her team of four lawyers to Sparke Helmore in February 2007 adding further depth to the specialised major claims practice group.
