Workplace Relations and Safety

In a changing and increasingly competitive marketplace, our clients value our expert knowledge and extensive experience across all workplace relations and WHS matters.

We have integrated our employment, industrial and WHS experts into a single national team to ensure the comprehensive management of all workplace matters. This, combined with the firm's expertise in workers compensation, means that we offer end-to-end management of workplace issues.

With an integrated team that operates from seven offices in five states and territories, national employers benefit from a consistent, coordinated service. Our ability to draw from such an extensive national team also enables us to ensure the best allocation of resources, to provide an immediate response and to address urgent matters, regardless of location.

As Australia's industrial relations system enters a new regime, the informed strategic and proactive management of human resources is critical. We provide advice across all areas of employment law including award employees, labour hire and contractors, and senior management and executive employment. As part of this service we ensure that the compensation and occupational health and safety issues which might arise are dealt with by our compensation and WHS experts.

Work Health and Safety

Expertise

Our WHS team has an outstanding reputation and track record of success in a wide range of circumstances including the negotiation of withdrawal of charges, successful defences on behalf of employers, managers and directors; costs orders; significant plea bargaining and non conviction results; and successful appeals against prohibition and improvement notices.

We have been able to achieve these results even where the incident outcome involved a fatality. This is particularly significant given the stringent nature of WHS legislation.

Our strategy involves a proactive and cohesive approach in dealing with investigations, coronial inquests, prosecutions and risk management advice under work health and safety legislation at National and the State/Territory level.
