Summer clerks and graduates

If you are keen to start your career in private practice, then choosing your first firm will be one of the most important decisions you make.

There are lots of questions you need to ask yourself. What type of law do I want to practice? What type of firm would suit me best? What will the work really be like?

Top graduates will always have a choice of firms, but how do you know which firm is right for you when so many boast impressive accomplishments, innovative practices, quality clients and the promise of opportunity?

One thing is certain, no matter how similar firms may seem in expertise and market profile, they all have different cultures and can be very different places to work.

All law firms practice the law diligently and professionally. In that, we are no different. But we have a way of working here that has grown organically over decades out of the strong vision of like-minded leaders and the commitment of the people we recruit.

As well as being thoroughly professional, we are human beings who are approachable, engaging, friendly and even fun to deal with.

We know our people offer clients a genuinely different experience of a law firm and when clients are presented with equal skills in a crowded market place, they prefer to work with people who are open and transparent in their advice and just plain easy to get on with.

I have been at Sparke Helmore since the beginning of my legal career and can vouch for the opportunities for a rewarding career with the Firm. Through a career with Sparke Helmore you will experience the feeling of working for a firm united by a common goal and of being able to make a difference through your personal contribution.

The next couple of months will be an exciting and stressful time as you go through the process of considering your career options and applying to firms. I wish you all the best as you start your graduate recruitment journey.
