The Information Management area is responsible for bringing together and making accessible all aspects of the firm's information and knowledge.

Services

The Information Management team provides a variety of services to the firm across all of Sparke Helmore's offices.

Research and Library Services

Our national Library ensures that all lawyers have access to the most up to date legal information from physical libraries in each office and increasingly in electronic form from their desktops.

The Library train staff in the use of the available resources and provides customised services to ensure that lawyers are kept up to date with any changes in the law.

The Library staff also assist lawyers by undertaking complex and time consuming research on matters.

Precedents

Our Precedents department creates, collates and manages a variety of knowledge documents used by lawyers (collectively known as "precedents").

The department ensures that templates and court forms are kept up to date and automates many documents to ensure that consistent, timely advice is provided to clients. They also assist lawyers to draft new precedents and collect and catalogue knowledge documents created on previous matters

The Precedents department is also responsible for training lawyers in the use of Plain English and technical drafting skills.

Web Information Systems

The Information Management team is responsible for managing the firm's web based systems. These include our intranet, our online knowledge base, library systems and our external web site.

We ensure that staff have easy access to the information they require for their work and make sure that our external website contains up to date, informative content.

Case Management

The Information Management team also manages the firm's case management system. This system allows lawyers to view all aspects of the file in one location, in addition to ensuring that cases are managed within the timeframes expected by courts or clients.

The case management system utilises both the latest technology and Sparke Helmore's considerable experience to ensure that matters are dealt with swiftly, efficiently and with a high degree of accuracy. It also allows the firm to provide clients with timely, accurate information about the progress of their work.
