Veronica is a commercial lawyer specialising in government, ICT and major projects work. She has substantial experience advising on complex procurements, strategic contracting matters (including remediation activities for projects of concern) and on military acquisition and sustainment programs. In 2016, Lawyers Weekly named Veronica one of Australia's top 30 lawyers under the age of 30.
Veronica advises large government departments and private companies on all aspects of complex and major projects. This includes project, procurement and contract design, acquisition, sustainment and remediation strategies, project delivery models and market-testing activities, the interpretation and management of contracts (including performance-based contracts), and dispute resolution and commercial settlement arrangements. She reviews, drafts and evaluates tenders and contracts, conducts commercial negotiations and advises on compliance with legislation and policy.
Veronica works primarily with in-house legal, commercial and project teams of Commonwealth Government departments and agencies.
Veronica has a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Medical Science from the University of Technology, Sydney.
Before joining Sparke Helmore's Canberra office as a law graduate, Veronica worked as a paralegal and law clerk at various commercial law firms in Sydney while studying.
Veronica loves to discover new places and new skills. She is currently learning French and taking tennis lessons, however she's recently discovered playing tennis outdoors in the middle of a Canberra winter is perhaps not one of her best ideas.
