Ryan is an experienced insurance lawyer and litigator with a primary focus on professional indemnity and product liability litigation.
Ryan has significant experience in a broad range of professional indemnity matters, in particular, construction and financial services disputes. He has also acted for insureds in intellectual property disputes and conveyancing matters.
Ryan works with Australian and UK-based insurers, underwriters, claims administrators and brokers.
Ryan has a Bachelor of Laws degree.
Before joining Sparke Helmore, Ryan worked at HWL Ebsworth and Moray & Agnew. Earlier in his career, Ryan practised commercial litigation with an emphasis on intellectual property disputes in Singapore.
Ryan was also a State Editor of the Australian Insurance Law Bulletin for a number of years.
Ryan enjoys chatting with his teenage children over the dinner table about politics, history and life in general (or rather, they are a captive audience to his musings).
His highlight each year is a family holiday to Singapore when he catches up with relatives and makes up for a year of being deprived of authentic hawker food. He also enjoys well-designed war board games that combine his interests in military history and spy fiction.
