Robert is a government procurement specialist experienced in advising on complex acquisitions, technology and communication assets, and logistics. He also has experience in advising private sector clients on tendering strategies.
What he does
Robert advises departments and agencies on all aspects of major projects and commercial transactions, including procurement strategies, tender and contract development, intellectual property, risk and performance management, probity, compliance, negotiations and contract management.
Robert has been acknowledged as a leading Government lawyer in AFR's Best Lawyers 2019.

Robert works with large government departments and agencies at both a Commonwealth and state level.
Qualifications
Robert has a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Legal Studies.
Life before Sparkes
Before working in private practice with Minter Ellison for six years, Robert spent six years working for the Commonwealth Attorney-General's Department.
Life outside of Sparkes
Robert has a long-standing interest in modern and indigenous art. When time permits, he wanders through Melbourne's commercial galleries looking for new talent or visits the National Gallery of Victoria. One of his ambitions in life is to visit all of the major galleries in the world.
When not at a gallery, Robert likes to keep fit with regular runs around the Botanical Gardens in Melbourne (known to the locals as 'doing the Tan'). Otherwise, he likes nothing more than spending time in his favourite bookshops and burying himself in a good book. When on holiday (and not touring a gallery or museum) he aims to read a book a day.
