Mark is commercial lawyer specialising in construction and infrastructure projects. He has particular experience advising on complex procurement and contracting matters, including negotiation, contract administration and dispute resolution.
Mark advises clients on all aspects of complex and major infrastructure projects. This includes project delivery models, procurement and tendering, contract drafting and interpretation, commercial negotiations, settlement arrangements, and dispute resolution, including security of payments adjudication. He also has significant experience in project management and contract administration.
Mark works with government, major building and engineering contractors, mining companies, developers, financial lenders and statutory utilities.
Mark holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Technology, Sydney. He also has a Bachelor of Business and Commerce from Monash University, and a Diploma of Electrical Engineering.
Before joining Sparke Helmore, Mark was a lawyer at Minter Ellison in Sydney, and before that he worked in various project and commercial roles at Caltex, John Holland and NBN Co. During that time, he gained extensive project experience as well as a sound understanding of commercial and legal risk.
When Mark is not spending time with his wife and three children, he loves to get outdoors and can often be found swimming, spear fishing, or playing soccer. He also enjoys entertaining, and sharing a meal and wine with family and friends.
