Laura first joined Sparke Helmore in 2005 and spent six years advising on employment and safety law. In 2011, she took up the position of Director of Safety and Health for the Queensland Resources Council (QRC), before returning to the firm in 2014. Laura also advised the Victorian Department of Sustainability and Environment on the 2009 Victorian Bushfires Royal Commission.
Laura is an employment and work health and safety (WHS) lawyer and helps employers find practical solutions for their workplace issues. She advises on incident response, due diligence, bullying and harassment issues, directors' and officers' duties, and policies and procedures.
What she does
Laura provides practical and commercial advice to clients. Whether reacting to incidents or proactively advising on new legislation compliance issues, Laura always ensures her advice is clear and timely.
Who she works with
Laura advises senior mine site general managers and senior executives in the mining and resources industry, and safety managers, supervisors and HR executives in the health, transport, government, manufacturing, construction and retail sectors.

Laura has a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) degree, a Bachelor of Science degree and a Diploma in Legal Practice from the University of Sydney.

Laura loves travelling and has particularly enjoyed Borneo, Africa and the Middle East. The most adventurous trip she's planned, however, is a diving tour with her young family.
