Daryl is a specialist in planning, local government and environmental law, an area he has practised in for more than 20 years. Daryl is the National Service Line Leader for the firm's Planning, Environment and Local Government team.
What he does
Daryl advises on the Local Government Act 1993, Environmental Planning & Assessment Act 1979 and Roads Act 1993. He also acts as an advocate in all types of litigation relevant to development in NSW, including merit appeals, enforcement proceedings and criminal prosecutions in the Land & Environment Court.

Daryl acts for local councils, state government authorities, planning professionals and developers throughout NSW.

Daryl has a Master of Law degree.
Life before Sparkes
Before joining Sparke Helmore in 1996, Daryl worked in Sydney where he practised in planning and local government law. He has also lectured in Environmental and Property Law at the University of Newcastle.
Life outside of Sparkes
Outside of work Daryl commits himself to his family, fitness and his two Staffordshire Bull Terriers.
