Chris is a Planning, Environment and Local Government lawyer who works in our Sydney office. He advises and acts for clients in planning and environment matters, particularly in the Land and Environment Court and also advises clients on a wide range of matters concerning development and local government.
What he does
Chris assists clients with planning and development matters, particularly in the Land and Environment Court. He regularly advises and acts for local government clients on a wide range of matters including planning agreements, enforcement matters, prosecutions and freedom of information legislation. Chris is a solicitor advocate and regularly appears for clients in Courts and Tribunals.
Who he works with
Chris works with local government clients, particularly in -house lawyers and managers of planning of development, as well as general managers. He also assists project managers in seeking approvals for the carrying out of development.
Qualifications
Chris holds a Bachelor of Arts and Law from Macquarie University and a Masters of Administrative Law and Policy from Sydney University. Chris is a member of the Environment and Planning Lawyers Association.
Life before Sparkes
Chris joined Sparke Helmore in 2017. Prior to that, he worked for a different firm in the area of planning, development and local government. Chris also has experience in government regulation at the Commonwealth level.
Life outside of Sparkes
Chris enjoys spending time with his young family and when possible, watching cricket, cycling and playing music.
