Ben is an experienced insurance and commercial litigator who specialises in public liability and commercial insurance.
Ben regularly represents insurers and insureds in the District and Supreme Courts on matters involving personal injury, property damage, indemnity and contractual claims, and the common law aspects of the Workers Compensation and Injury Management Act 1981 (WA).
Ben also advises insurer clients and brokers on indemnity, liability and claims management strategies, policy wordings, and contractual and statutory interpretation, as well as private clients on contractual negotiations, disputes and dispute resolution.
Ben works with insurers and insureds as well as private companies.
Ben holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from the University of Notre Dame.
Ben undertook articles training in-house with a multinational food services company before he joined boutique insurance law firm Jarman McKenna in July 2008.
Ben joined Sparke Helmore when Jarman McKenna merged with the firm in March 2017.
Ben enjoys fishing, sports and adventure travel. He is a member of the Royal Perth Yacht Club and an interstate member of the Melbourne Cricket Club.
