Aaron is a government law specialist who advises and acts for NSW and Commonwealth Government clients in a wide range of matters, including judicial review of administrative decisions and tribunal merits review of applications under privacy and government information legislation.
Aaron has a particular focus on advising and representing government clients in complex cases involving statutory interpretation, administrative law, privacy and government information (similar to freedom of information) legislation.
Aaron works with Commonwealth and NSW government clients.
Aaron holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Sydney and Master of Laws from the University of New South Wales. He also has a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and English Literature from McGill University in Montreal, Canada.
Before joining Sparke Helmore in February 2017, Aaron worked exclusively for NSW Government clients on administrative and public law matters with the NSW Crown Solicitor's Office. During this time, Aaron was seconded to various government clients for the development of systems and processes around government information access and spent time as a tribunal member of the Motor Accidents Claims Assessment and Resolution Service.
Before this he worked with a top-tier national law firm in its public and administrative law practice.
Aaron loves living in Sydney because he can try so many new restaurants, go to the theatre any time and take his dog to the beach when the sun's out. He travels regularly, particularly to countries where he can practise his French or try to learn a new language. He sings in a community choir and leads a trivia team in a competitive social trivia league.
