Sparke Helmore Lawyers is proud to be one of 18 law firms partnering in R U OK's "Look Deeper" campaign.
The year-long campaign aims to bring awareness about mental health issues within the legal profession, asking practitioners to start up a conversation with colleagues and look beneath the surface to see whether they are, in fact, okay.
With lawyers four times more likely to experience depression than other professionals, the campaign strives to tackle this significant figure through meaningful conversations and peer-to-peer support.
Partners of the "Look Deeper" campaign are Sparke Helmore Lawyers, Allens Linklaters, Ashurst, Baker & McKenzie, Clayton Utz, Colin Biggers & Paisley, Corrs Chambers Westgarth, DibbsBarker, Gilbert + Tobin, Henry Davis York, Herbert Smith Freehills, Holding Redlich Lawyers, King & Wood Mallesons, Maddocks, McCullough Robertson, MinterEllison, Norton Rose Fulbright and Russell Kennedy.

About R U OK
R U OK, a charitable organisation founded in 2009, focuses on addressing mental health issues through the power of starting a conversation about mental wellbeing. The charity was founded in memory of Barry Larkin by his son Gavin Larkin, who set up the organisation with the hopes of raising awareness about and addressing mental illness to prevent further suicides.
R U OK Day is the charity's key initiative, which asks people to make a conscious effort particularly for one day of the year to ask their friends, loved ones and colleagues the simple question "Are you ok?". The annual event, held on the second Thursday of September, brings attention to what may seem like a trivial question but can potentially change or save an individual's life.
