Congratulations to the Department of Human Services' Chief Counsel, Annette Musolino, who was named Government Lawyer of the Year at the 2017 Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) Australia In-house Lawyer Awards last night. Sparke Helmore Lawyers was proud to sponsor the award for a sixth consecutive year, which was presented by National Government Group Leader Ben Dube at a ceremony held at the Alice Springs Convention Centre.
In-house government lawyers with more than six years' experience are recognised in the Government Lawyer of the Year category for their service, leadership, overall contribution and knowledge within the regulated or policy environment.
Annette received the accolade for leading a strong service culture with quality advice and clear communication. She provides strategic legal advice and assistance to the Secretary, the Executive and the Minister for Human Services, and engages with key stakeholders to develop and enact strategies that address technical, fiscal and policy considerations against the government policy landscape.
ACC Australia is a national association representing the interests of in-house counsel working for corporations and government in Australia and is part of a global network spanning over 85 countries with more than 40,000 in-house counsel employed by more than 10,000 organisations.
